MARIA VICTORIA SALAZAR

About Me

I'm a PhD candidate in Philosophy at The Graduate Center, CUNY. I received my BA from Hunter College, CUNY, where I double-majored in Philosophy and Greek and Latin, and minored in German. Right now, my research is focused on Plato and Platonic Political Philosophy, but I also have research interests in the History of Political Thought, contemporary Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Education, and Aesthetics. My dissertation is on Platonic political eros, specifically on how eros functions in Plato's philosophy and why Plato's conception of political eros is useful for us today.

Aside from strictly academic interests, I enjoy learning new languages, watching soccer, gardening, and beekeeping.
